David Tlale at New York Fashion Week 2013

As South Africa is going to sleep, David Tlale is waking up to news that his New York producers, People’s Revolution, for his show will not be “affiliated with the fashion presentation.” Fashion publicist Kelly Cutrone, no stranger to drama, is known for her cut throat attitude and no nonsense demeanor on TV Show Kell on Earth and more
recently America’s Next Top Model. According to WWD.com Cutrone’s agency resigned because her agency didn’t get paid. People’s Revolution sent out a brief email that read:

“People’s Revolution is canceling our participation in the David Tlale show, Thursday September 5 9:30am in the Box at Lincoln Center as we have not been paid. Please note no one from production will be in attendance. Very Best, People’s Revolution”

Their agreement was a 50% deposit of $15000 upon signing and the balance to be paid 48 prior to the show, which apparently she received none of. Cutrone told Tlale “if you do not honour your agreement, you are no longer in our care.” Tlale told WWD, “It’s not about me not wanting to pay them. The payments were delayed from my side. They were going to be effective today, but she pulled the plug. She was not willing to wait. We were going to make the entire amount today.” With that being said, the show did go on.
